Terri Janke is the Solicitor Director of Terri Janke and Company, a unique Australian law firm specialising in intellectual property and business law. Ms Janke brings together a unique blend of legal, commercial and Indigenous experience. Her law firm has operated since 2000 and has a diverse client base including leading Australian companies, Indigenous organisations and government and international agencies. She is an international authority on Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP), as well as a business mentor, an author and public speaker.

Ms Janke was born in Cairns with family connections to both the Torres Strait Islands (Meriam) and Cape York Peninsula (Wuthathi). She is a Board director with over 20 years’ experience on boards, a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), a Council member of the State Library of NSW and a member of Telstra’s Indigenous Advisory Committee.

Ms Janke was a finalist in the 2015 Telstra Business Women’s Awards; was named the 2011 NAIDOC Person of the Year and the Attorney General’s Indigenous Lawyer of the Year 2012. She received the Lend Lease Special Recognition Award in Business (Supply Nation 2015) and was listed in the AFR/Westpac 100 Women of Influence in the Business Entrepreneur category.
