The NCIE Aquatics Team cater for all levels, teaching a balance of swimming skills and water safety. Every member of the Team is Austswim or Swim Australia certified.

Our swimming education program takes a layered approach to developing a range of swimming competencies and survival skills. Students progress through a series of learning levels, each building a groundwork of skills necessary for progression to more advanced swimming techniques.

Water safety components are emphasised in each swimming level, teaching children to keep themselves safe in the water in and out of lessons. Our class sizes are small to ensure students receive quality tuition in a safe, friendly, and fun environment.

NCIE's swim program is one of the most successful and celebrated programs in the area.

As part of the membership, students receive one half an hour lesson a week, and unlimited swimming during the week.

Lesson Length: 30 minutes

Availability: Monday - Friday (afternoons) and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday (mornings) all year round.

Cost: $21 per swim lesson

Learn to Swim membership is rolling, not based on school terms.

Lessons run through every school holidays except during the December/January holidays.

Membership can be cancelled at any time with two weeks’ notice.

Swimming Intensives: January 2020

Intensive classes are an immersive Learn to Swim experience, intended to accelerate development of swimming skills. Children attend a 30 minute lesson every weekday morning during the school holidays.

Enrol now for the final week of Intensives:

When attending your first swimming lesson, arrive 10-15 minutes before your lesson starts, to familiarise yourself with the pool and amenities, the pool deck on duty, and our Code of Conduct.

Adult Swimming Lessons


The NCIE also offers an Adult Learn to Swim program. If you're looking to correct your existing swimming technique, the Aquatics Team can help.


The Team are experienced in adapting lessons to suit your needs. These lessons are a excellent for building water confidence, stroke correction and personal development.

NCIE Fitness Members can use the pool for recreational swimming or training as part of their membership. Please note that while swimming classes are running, there are limited lanes available for free swimming.

Swim school is in progress Monday to Friday 3pm - 6pm and Saturday 8am - 12pm. These are our busiest times of the week.

AQUA FINS

Aqua Fins is a great non-weight bearing, strength building class structured to target the large muscle groups of the legs and abdomen. This class may be suitable for those who have conditions with their knees, hips or back but is also suitable for those who consider themselves ‘fit’ and look to complement the weight-bearing exercise they do. Participants must bring their own pair of flippers.

AQUA FIT

Aqua aerobics was so yesterday, Aqua Fit is the new, fun way to get fit in the water. Traditional to innovative aqua based exercises using water for resistance, increasing strength and general fitness. Aqua Fit is a low impact, high intensity exercise which is great for joint strength and can assist in weight-loss.

BODY PUMP

The ultimate weight training workout to music challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music and your choice of weights to inspire you to get the results you came for - and fast! Tone muscle, improve strength and reduce body fat.

BOXFIT

This is an engaging, challenging workout designed to develop your boxing skills and increase overall fitness. These sessions will reward you with increased strength, muscle tone, cardiovascular fitness, coordination, and burn away excess body fat.

CROSS-TRAIN

Learn to train in all components of fitness effectively in an engaging environment. Learn correct movement patterns and other skills to take your training to the next level. Cross training is great for enhancing weight-loss and improving total fitness. Suitable for all levels

DYNAMIC BARRE

An exciting, dynamic workout designed to tone your entire body, creating longer and leaner muscles. Ballet and Pilates inspired exercises combined with a cardio workout method means that you will be fat burning both during the class and for hours after your workout.

HIIT

High intensity interval training (HIIT) has quickly become the preferred method for achieving results, fast! Come to these classes expecting to train your strength and cardio respiratory systems, alternating hard work intervals with active recovery. You'll burn tonnes of energy and improve your ability to train harder for longer!

KETTLEBELL

The unconventional Kettlebell is used to perform dynamic movements that combine cardiovascular and strength training. This class is particularly good for building strength in the lower back, legs and shoulders. Typically, this is a mixed intensity training class targeting several muscles simultaneously.

KICK BOXING

Kick boxing provides a challenging fitness workout while learning valuable skills in a controlled environment. You'll learn the art of throwing an effective punch, kick, knee and elbow. This class is open to males and females of all fitness levels.

PILATES

Pilates teaches you body control and develops strength and flexibility. You’ll focus on alignment, positioning and stability by activating and engaging the deeper core and trunk muscles to stretch and strengthen your whole body. A rewarding class that can help relieve back problems.

SPIN

An indoor cycling class based on outdoor riding. A challenging workout of various terrains and intervals set to motivating music. All fitness levels are welcome. Take the lead from the instructor and then set your own resistance, speed and pace. Great cardio respiratory workout that will strengthen the lower body and core, burn calories and increase fitness.

WARRIOR

Warrior training is a functional strength and conditioning program that combines dynamic functional movements and body awareness that challenges the way you train. Each workout is never the same so if you are looking for an ultimate workout that uses non-conventional equipment such as ropes, tyres, sleds and medicine balls then Warrior is for you. Suitable for all fitness levels.

YOGA

Using a combination of traditional and innovative Yoga styles this class focuses on flexibility, joint alignment and breathing techniques to calm the mind and ease the body. Stances range from basic to more flowing and dynamic poses suitable for beginners and the more seasoned Yoga enthusiast.

YOGALATES

Yogalates is a mix of both Yoga and Pilates. It's based on yoga sequence but includes more dynamic movements to strengthen the muscles. It's a class suitable for all levels.

YOUNG AT HEART

A class specifically designed for over 50’s which involves low-impact cardiovascular and strength activities. Stay active and in the prime of your life by improving bone density, balance, muscular strength and coordination.

ZUMBA

Ditch the workout, join the party! Loaded with red hot dance steps, pulsating Latin rhythms and easy to follow routines, this invigorating dance fitness 'party' will have you movin', groovin' and shakin' the weight off to the sexy exotic rhythms of Salsa, Merengue, Samba and more.
