CEO ANNOUNCEMENT

On behalf of the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE), I sadly announce the departure of our Chief Executive Officer, Jasmine Ryan.

Jasmine has played an integral role within the NCIE for the past 12 months and is moving on due to personal reasons. She will be missed by her colleagues and the wider Redfern community.

Throughout Jasmine’s time at the NCIE, her leadership has supported the stabilisation of business operations and provided essential continuity for both NCIE staff and stakeholders.

Jasmine has demonstrated meaningful commitment in ensuring the NCIE community have a voice in the design and delivery of services into the future, while upholding a high standard of corporate stewardship.

Jasmine has done a great job in rebuilding the organisation post divestment and leaves a legacy of a foundation for future growth and contribution to the Redfern and wider community.

Jasmine’s final day with the NCIE is Friday 30 June 2023. Jasmine is looking forward to spending time with her family during NAIDOC Week.

“It has been an honour and privilege to lead the NCIE. While I am sad to leave this incredible organisation, I have genuine confidence in its future to continue creating opportunities for the local and First Nations community of Redfern,” said Ms Ryan.

Group Chief Executive Officer of the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC), Joe Morrison, thanked Jasmine for efforts during her role as CEO, noting the ILSC’s commitment in ensuring a smooth transition process.

“The ILSC Executive team and wider organisation will work closely with the NCIE to maintain stability as we move forward. The ILSC will maintain its support of the NCIE as it continues to serve the community,” said Mr Morrison.

NCIE operations will proceed as normal, focusing on providing long-term improvements in the wellbeing of First Nations people to help build solid foundations for their future.

Chief Operating Officer of the ILSC, Matthew Salmon, will hold CEO delegation within the NCIE while the recruitment to fill the Chief Executive Officer position is finalised.

Please join me in thanking Jasmine for her hard work and dedication. On behalf of the NCIE, I wish her all very best in her future endeavours.
