The Transformation Challenge wrapped up at NCIE Fitness in late September with 28 fitness members taking on the six weeks of goal setting, exercise dedication and diet discipline!

At the start of the challenge each participant completed an InBody Scan to measure their weight, body fat & skeletal muscle mass, followed by a session with an NCIE Personal Trainer to go through the results and design a personalised six-week exercise program.

Participants were also encouraged to meet with Ellouise Wiltshire from Redfern Physio’s Health and Performance collective to review their diet, and book a consultation with NCIE’s sports doctor, Dr Moe to discuss any injury or performance concerns.

Each member of the group then spent the six weeks working through their individual training and diet plans. For most people this included three group classes a week, a handful of individual sessions in the gym, and participation in Saturday’s challenge-only group class. Members also took the challenge to other areas of their wellbeing, with many giving up (or limiting) alcohol, processed sugars, or junk food for the six weeks.

At the end of the six weeks the NCIE Fitness team were thrilled with the results – here’s what our Health and Fitness Coordinator Alan Gregory had to say:

“Our latest six-week Transformation Challenge was a real success with regards to group engagement and the participants’ commitment to training.

“This would be the best challenge to date for consistent attendance at our Saturday morning challenge-only team training sessions.

“The positive, friendly attitude from all went a long way in building strong camaraderie within the group. This encouraged the group to push each other and take training to a new level. Personally, I looked forward to the sessions for the social aspect of them. The atmosphere was uplifting.”

Everyone’s a winner

At the completion of the Challenge the group lost a combined 35% body fat and collectively gained 6kg of muscle mass with many members of the group reporting healthy weight loss of over 3kg each.

One of the challenge participants said of the experience “My fitness approved in every aspect and I feel healthier for it. Mentally I want to keep training to push myself so I am definitely happy with the results.”

The six-week Transformation Challenge MVP Awards went to the participants who not only achieved the most dramatic improvements in fitness, training and body composition results but who also gave 100% at group sessions and worked hardest on the technique and skill – irrespective of their original fitness level.
