This week we farewell our strong and fearless CEO, Clare McHugh, who has been leading NCIE for nearly four years.
While Clare will be so missed at NCIE, we are so excited for her new appointment as Executive Director of the NSW Aboriginal Languages Trust, where she’ll be working to revitalise, grow and nurture First Nations languages activities in NSW.
Clare will always be an important part of the fabric of the NCIE team, and we are so grateful for all she’s brought to our community.
We’re also excited to announce the appointment of Darren Hammond to NCIE CEO. Darren is a Gomeroi man from Moree, NSW who has called Sydney home from a young age, with strong ties to the Redfern community.
Darren brings with him a wealth of experience in working with community, and was most recently the Chief Operating Officer at Tribal Warrior Aboriginal Corporation.
