This year’s Yabun Festival is expected to be bigger and better than ever!

Tens of thousands of people will come together on Gadigal Land in Victoria Park Sydney, Saturday 26 January 2019 from 10am – 7pm, for a day of music, dance, food, stalls and heaps more,  to celebrate the cultures and survival of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

Talking About Tobacco Use (TATU) at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) in Redfern, is a proud sponsor of the Yabun Festival.

Come and find out about all of NCIE’s Services at Yabun

The TATU team can tell you about the importance of regular preventative health checks, Nicotine Replacement Therapy, health tips and heaps more info about getting on the road to a smoke-free lifestyle. There’ll also be workshops, a guessing comp and prizes to be won!

While you’re at the NCIE tent, jump on the exercise bike to get a free hit of endorphins, grab a tote bag or t-shirt, and check out everything NCIE has to offer.

Aaaand…if you get to the tent between 1pm and 2pm you can meet some of our deadliest NRL stars as well!

Food! Food! Food!

NCIE Kitchen together with the Job Ready crew will be selling our delicious food for the first time at Yabun. Come along and grab a Kangaroo or Chicken Pie, a Warrigal Greens Scroll, Wild Rice Salad or some Lemon Myrtle Shortbread. We’ll also have spices and jam for sale.

Explore virtual worlds with IDX

The NCIE’s Indigenous Digital Excellence (IDX) team will be set up in the Young, Black and Deadly tent this year to showcase a range of new technologies including virtual reality (VR) and small parrot drones.

Everyone is invited to visit the Young Black & Deadly tent between 10am and 12 pm to say hi to IDX, and explore virtual worlds using the VR headset or learn the basics to flying a drone with help from one of our trained IDX Facilitators.

The workshops are free and open to all ages. You can also put your name down to win one of two great prize packs.

See you at Yabun!
